Match Set-up
Style: Double Elimination Match Type: 1 vs. 1 # Matches: Best 3 of 5 Life Gauge Large Round Time: Unlimited Restricted Characters: None
Additional Rules
1) Onthexbox.com must be notified of the contestant’s character selection at least one week prior the tournaments start date. The Selected character is then to be used through out the rest of the tournament proceedings.
2) If a contestant cannot attend his assigned match, he must contact his assigned referee a minimum of two hours before his match is set to begin. The contestant will then be assigned another time and opponent to face. In the event that the referee is not notified, this missed match will count as a single elimination. If the player misses his make-up match, he will be eliminated from the competition.
3) A contestant is eliminated from the tournament, when he has lost two matches. Additionally, the player is eliminated if he has missed one match and lost one match or has missed both of his matches.
4) In the event that the final round contestants cannot attend their match or their make-up match, the previously semi-final round players will be asked to take their places. However, if the semi-final contestants cannot fulfill this, than roles of final contestants will regress to eliminated quarter- final contestants and continue backwards if the need arises.
5) Third place will be decided by a match between the two eliminated Semi Final round contestants. In the event that one or both of these contestants cannot attend their match, make-up match, or have been drafted to the final match, their places will be taken by previously eliminated quarter- final contestants and will continue backwards if the need arises.
6) Stages must be chosen at random.
7) In the event that a two contestants connection signals are not compatible, they will then be reassigned opponents. If their connection is persistently low or unaccommodating they will forfeit the match, unless said match is held after the second round.
8) In the event that a match persistently lags in matches held after the second round, the two contestants will then be subject to the "Gauntlet". The Gauntlet is in fact a clause that puts two players in a survival competition. The players will be forced to face three opponents in survival challenge until they lose. The person with the highest survival average after three runs is the winner of their "match" and will then advance.
9) In a Gauntlet challenge, each player must face the same opponents.
10) ALL PLAYERS MUST BE LOCATED WITHIN NORTH AMERICA!
11) Trash Talking is allowed…so long as you don’t bring up Julius Rage’s Grandmother. Doing this will result in a catastrophic ass whooping (and it won’t be from behind a controller, if you understand me).

Disqualification
There are only three types of major of infractions and each can, potentially, net you a swift kick out of the tournament proceedings.
Disrespecting the Referee- The majority of our referees are cold, heartless, knife happy criminals, who would enjoy nothing more than to hear you call their mother a female dog, so that they have a legitimate excuse to run a box cutter up your rib cage. Some of our referees, though, may take offense to such disrespectful comments. Thus, we ask that contestants please keep their flaming confined to the direction of their opponent.
Invalid Character Selection- This is fairly straight forward. The character that the contestant submits to onthexbox.com MUST be the character that is selected during the match.
Invalid Stage Selection- This is exactly the same concept as the invalid character selection rule. If the challenger (the player with level select capabilities) does not select random he will be call on an infraction.
The consequences for not following the rules set forth are as follows…
First infraction- you are given a verbal warning (The Referee pulls a ban hammer out of his bra)
Second infraction- you are given a second verbal warning ( The Referee dusts off his ban hammer)
Third infraction- you are disqualified… (A.k.a. The Ban hammer is dropped squarely on your gaming thumb)
